Many Ukrainian students who have fled to the southwest want to continue their studies here. The University of Freiburg has so far received 300 searches. Financing their education is a challenge for many refugees. Freiburg has a special emergency fund for Ukraine and a general emergency fund. Studierendenwerk Freiburg provides financial advice. In addition, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation has launched an emergency support program from which universities can provide scholarships. The country is making arrangements for Ukrainian youth who are already enrolled and who have fled and want to study. They are exempt from a fee of 1,500 euros per semester which is otherwise required for foreign students.
