MOeC: Jaime Larner Scholarship for Latin American Students 2022-23

Following the success of the first edition of the “Gem Learner Exchange” in 2021, IAAC has launched the second edition of the Gem Larner Scholarship in collaboration with Uruguayan studio Gomez Platero Architectura and Urbanizmo. This year, in the 2022/2023 academic year, professionals from all Latin American countries have been awarded scholarships to study our online Master in Cities: The Next Urbanism. In this way, the sponsors strengthen their commitment to support young local architects in their efforts to specialize in effectively contributing to the development of their respective cities.
In this second edition, the James Larner Scholarship will provide 100% of the scholarship to Latin American students (covering all costs of the master, i.e. € 5,800), and 50% (covering) for the finalists with the best portfolio, half of the cost of the master, i.e. € 2,900). The application submission deadline is Monday, May 23, 2022 and the results will be announced on Monday, June 6, 2022.
IAAC is an organization that started its academic activities in Barcelona in 2001 and has become a pioneering hub worldwide, allowing new technologies and environmental policies to learn about the new opportunities that society offers. Currently, IAAC has more than 150 students from 50 countries who interact in a multi-disciplinary environment to build a more humane city.
Jaime Lerner (1937-2021) was a Brazilian urban planner, architect and politician who influenced the development of cities around the world. The American magazine Planetizen named him the second most influential urban planner of all time, surpassing only Jane Jacobs and collaborating with the IAAC on several occasions. This scholarship continues as our tribute to this great Latin American teacher.
